Kim Delaney was an American actor from the United States. She is most famous because of her part as the detective Diane Russell, in the ABC drama series NYPD Blue. For this she was awarded an Emmy Award. Her other credits include her performances in the drama series All My Children Philly CSI: Miami and Army Wives. Delaney was born as the sole child of her mother who was a homemaker and senior executive from the United Auto Workers. Delaney spent most of her childhood with 4 brothers. She envisioned being a reporter for the court in childhood but started modelling while at high school, eventually earning commercials when she moved into New York. When she was a teenager, her first role as an actress was in the soap opera All My Children. Delaney was a talented young actress in the 80s, has been featured in a variety of TV films and dramas. As with her professional career however, her private life has not been easy or prosperous. The talented actress was afflicted with alcoholism in the past and had two failed marriages. In 2005, her custody was removed from her.
