Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) is better known under her professional name Ari Lennox is an American singer and songwriter who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist associated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. The first album she released with the label on October 21st, 2016, titled Pho. This is when she started to gain recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album, debuted on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her tracks to the Internet in 2012, when she released her mixtape debut Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox continued to post her music online including her self-released single Bound. The 21st day of July, the 21st of July in 2015 Omen was featured on Elephant Eyes' track Sweat It Out. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's references. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July in 2018, released her first single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. The music video to accompany it came out on the 5th. Her second single, Grampa on November 9. In November 2013 she released her debut album No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby later made an appearance in the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She released this single as a way in order to announce her debut album Creed II on 26 February 2019. It was released with the music video which debuted in February 20th, 2019 that surpassed three million views on YouTube within one week. She was part of the 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour back in December of 2018.
